NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO
AUSTIN’S LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE

Mailing Date: August 28, 2015 Case Number: C20-2014-028

A public hearing will be held to consider a proposed amendment to Austin’s Land Development Code.

Proposed Amendment:
Consider an ordinance amending City Code Chapter 25-1 relating to Parkland Dedication and
associated parkland fees.

The City Council will consider this amendment on September 17, 2015 at 301 West 2nd Street, beginning
at 4:00pm. Comments on this proposed ordinance from any member of the public will be heard during
the public hearing.

Public hearing will be held to consider a proposed amendment to Austin's Land Development Code. The proposed amendment will consider an ordinance amending City Code Chapter 25-1 relating to Parkland Dedication and associated Parkland fees. The Planning Commission will consider the amendment on June 23, 2015 at 301 West 2nd Street (City Hall) beginning at 6:00 pm. Members of the public will be heard during the public hearing. Guadalupe Corridor Improvement Program

Draft Recommendations Coming This Fall

Traffic congestion and road safety are concerns shared by most Austinites who live, work, and play along "The Drag.” Improving conditions along the Guadalupe corridor could take some stress out of commuting, or just make it easier to drop in for lunch. To address these challenges, last November the City of Austin launched the Guadalupe Corridor Improvement Program, to help identify short-term to long-term transportation improvements to enhance mobility, safety, and quality of life along one of Austin's most treasured urban landscapes.

Finding the right solutions means hearing straight from those who navigate the corridor. Since the launch, the City has continued to gather community input and make progress on developing improvement recommendations. In February, the project team held a series of small-group meetings with area stakeholders. Among the discussions, participants considered priorities, constraints, and ideas for all modes of travel along the corridor.

Throughout the project, the City of Austin has listened to the community and encouraged input on how to enhance the Guadalupe corridor for pedestrians, bicycles, public transportation, and vehicles. Opportunities have included an Online Survey and an Open House Meeting on December 3, 2014. More than 780 participants took the survey from November 15, 2014 to February 6, 2015, and 81 attended the Open House Meeting (see pictures). The complete Online Survey results and Open House ‘Thought Wall’ Comments are now available for download.

Later this fall, the City will host a Public Meeting and Business Open House to share the identified solutions and listen to public feedback. The program recommendations are expected to be completed this winter.

Austin Resource Recovery Begins Storm Cleanup

AUSTIN RESOURCE RECOVERY BEGINS STORM CLEAN UP

Call 3-1-1 to request pick up of large limbs from flood.

Austin Resource Recovery crews began responding to customer requests for storm debris removal early Monday. Customers should call 3-1-1 to request pick up of large limbs or household items damaged by flooding.

Customers should place items at the curb for collection. Items should be separated into three piles: 1. Brush and yard debris, 2. Bulk items such as furniture and 3. Household Hazardous Waste, such as paint, cleaners or pool chemicals.

Due to the significant impact from the weekend storms, it likely will take a few weeks for crews to complete the removal. Staff is working to complete the clean up as soon as possible, including seeking help from contractors. Staff is prioritizing areas that were impacted most heavily by the storms. Please, only request a pick up if your property was affected by the storms.
