The Hancock Neighborhood Association' Executive Committee ( HNA officers) met on Thursday, February 5th, 2015. In attendance were President, Mark Harkrider; Vice President, James Harkrider; Secretary, Mary Sanger; Treasurer, Bruce Fairchild. Jim Rankin also was present. Bruce Fairchild reported that HNA has $2500 in a money market fund, $8500 in the checking account and no outstanding payables. Mark Harkrider reported that this month he attended the ANC Central Sector meeting where Jeff Jack, Planning Commissioner and member of the Code Next Advisory Committee, discussed Austin's Land Use Code rewrite/revision process. Mark and James also attended ANC 's monthly meeting. At that meeting, Mark and James were able to speak with new City Council members, including Leslie Pool, Ora Houston, and Ann Kitchen. The main speaker at ANC was from the City's Water and Wastewater Department who discussed rate changes based on impervious cover i.e, the less impervious cover, the lower your drainage fee. There will be more on this at the HNA general meeting. There was a discussion on how to more effectively communicate with and provide information to HNA residents. Mark will appoint a committee to look into the use of electronic tools. Also, a discussion of HNA quadrant leaders who could help with outreach will be discussed with the full membership at HNA's March 18th meeting. Jim Rankin agreed to look at possible boundaries of the quadrants. The new officers want to thank George Wilson, HNA's webmaster, for his steadfast maintenance of the HNA website. Mary Sanger was asked to invite Jeff Jack to the March 18th meeting. Sent from my iPad Msanger@austin.rr.com
