April 13, 2013 Longhorn Run Map - This Race Will Encircle HNA
The 2013 Longhorn Run will affect the Hancock Neighborhood. The event, which includes a 10K and 2-mile race, will take place on Saturday, April 13. The race is organized by UT Student Government and RecSports and serves as a fundraiser for both departments. The race began in 2010, took a hiatus in 2011 and returned in 2012 with 2200 runners. The 2013 route has been altered due to feedback from last year's event and will now affect residents of Hancock Neighborhood. Please see the attached a map for your reference.
We will have only partial road closures and we have a rolling open for streets. APD was great in working with residents last year to minimize the inconvenience, while ensuring a safe environment for the runners. We would expect the same would happen this year; APD will assist in making sure that residents can get to/from their destination with minimal disruption. Notification letters were mailed on Jan 10, per city requirements and approval.
