HNA January 15th Meeting Minutes Capital Metro Presentation by Willie Cecil Austin is expected to double by 2025. 100 people move to Austin each day. 70% of these bring cars. Williamson County is the fastest growing county in the nation. Cap Metro, CAMPO, City of Austin, and L-star rail (Georgetown to San Antonio) are all coordinating. January and August 2014, first two Rapid Transit Bus lanes go live. Austin's Project Connect (http://projectconnect.com/) getting feedback on alignment of a possible rail or other transit mode. Metro Rapid Transit received federal funding which is why they can't take those alignments for new Project Connect lines. The Central Corridor alignment will be decided April-June. Mode is decided in April. Assuming that voters approve the plan, expected completion is 2020. The APD district representative for 2014 is Officer Josh Metteauer. April 1, at McCallum High School is the next Commander's Forum; neighbors invited to attend.
